Announcing the launch for proposals and business plans for the International Competition «Copernicus Masters 2016», the worldwide annual competition for innovative business applications and solutions, which are based on satellite Earth observation data and are intended to meet social and business needs.
The 2016 Copernicus Masters competition for Earth observation rewards innovative solutions for enterprises and society based on space images.
Besides the prize money of the competition, participants are able to gain access to a leading international network in the corresponding scientific data on funding opportunities for startups and other support services, the total value of these opportunities estimated to exceed € 300,000.
The thematic categories of the competition include the crop management, energy, environmental protection, and tourism.
The competition is held annually since 2011 and has over the past five years accumulated 700 entries from 60 countries highlighting 40 winners.
