The EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) has launched a competition, EFSA Hackathon, were they are seeking developers and designers with innovative ideas for developing a mobile app for EFSA.

You may participate by yourself or with a team, and the app shall give access to EFSA’s recent and ongoing work in a quick, user-friendly way.

Before submitting your contribution you should have a clear idea of what the app will look like, but you do not have to have an fully functioning product.

The five best creators will be invited to EFSA in Parma, Italy, in September 2016.  Please note, that by then you must have a fully functioning app!

In Parma the participants will meet other developers, designers, and innovators from all over Europe. Experts in the field of mobile app and innovation will also join in. You will present your project, share ideas and network.

The first prize is €20,000, but all those invited to Parma and whose app has passed the minimum quality thresholds will receive a prize.
