Traineeship at the European Medicines Agency


The European Medicines Agency organises traineeships for university graduates.
The programme aims to give trainees an understanding of the Agency and its role within the activities of the European Union. It also enables them to acquire practical knowledge in one of the EMEA’s Units and to obtain professional experience in the course of their work.
The training period lasts at least six months and at most nine months, beginning in October.

Training grant: The Agency pays a maintenance grant of 1350 GBP net per month and pays a travel allowance.

Who is eligible:

  • The programme is addressed to university graduates and to people at the beginning of a new professional career.
  • A good command of English and one or more other official Community languages is required.
  • Successful candidates should have a background relating to the activities of the EMEA, i.e. pharmacy, medicine, life sciences, healthcare, chemistry or information technologies. Recently qualified lawyers with an interest in pharmaceutical regulatory affairs and recently qualified candidates with an interest in human resources / budget / accounts are welcomed as well.
  • Trainees are selected from nationals of the Member States of the European Union. The European Economic Area – Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and candidate countries benefiting from a pre-accession strategy.

    How to apply: Candidates should download the application form and use the “submit by email” function. Applications can also be sent by fax or normal mail. If not successful on the first attempt, candidates may re-apply by submitting another application.

    Deadline: 15 June 2014 ( traineeship starting in October).
